Xochiquetzal (Print)

Regular price $15.00

Xochiquetzal was actually brought to my attention by a customer interested in my rendition of Mictecacihuatl. Once I looked into Xochiquetzal I was really taken with her and couldn't resist painting her as well. Xochiquetzal is associated with birds (hummingbirds and quetzals in particular), butterflies, flowers, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, motherhood, and female sexual power. She is also the mother of Quetzalcoatl and at various points married to Tlaloc, Tezcatlipoca, Centeotl, and Xiuhtecuhtli.

The original piece was done in watercolor and pencil on rag paper, measuring 11 x 7".

This print (THIS LISTING IS FOR THE PRINT, NOT THE ACTUAL PAINTING) measures 8" X 12" (the painting has a 1/2" white border). It is a lovely reproduction of the original work, on photo matte paper. This listing is for the print only, no frame or matting will be included. It will be shipped in a plastic sleeve and sturdy cardboard mailer.
