Under an Avery Moon (Fairy) (Note Card)

Regular price $5.00

Along the lines of my Pagan-y greeting cards, I offer these full moon name cards. This one features two of the names for the full moon in April; the peony moon (Chinese) and the seed moon (English Medieval). The lighter part of the moon is painted with the pale pink petals of a peony and the the darker areas are colored with an assortment of colorful seeds. It also features the faint outline of Avery, the April fairy (of my tradition).

The full moon is done in watercolor; the fairy is drawn in chalk pastel.

Perfect for April birthdays, holidays, esbats, or whatever suits your fancy.

A tidbit about Avery:
Avery is one of the 13 fairies that I made up once upon a time (ha ha, no pun intended...ish) when I was a composing a (as of yet and probably perpetually) unfinished story about Sleeping Beauty. There's one for every month, plus one extra. They have all sorts of alliances and suchlike and are at war, and elemental, and all have weird names that are vaguely associated with their month names, function, or holidays therein.
Avery is the fairy of April. Her name is related to the French word for April, Avril (at least in sound). She is allied with Moira (the monthless fairy) and Bridget (February), She is the 8th oldest (all the fairies are sisters). She's kind of a book worm.

Oh yeah and card details, for people who care about that sort of thing:
Cards are approximately 5 1/2" by 4 1/4", and come with a slightly larger envelope to put them in (although there is a stamp on the one in the photos there will be no stamp on the one you receive; it is just for reference). This one is also blank on the inside, so that you may fill it with the message of your choice! (Such as "Happy Birthday!")
