Under a Nana Moon (Fairy) (Note Card)

Regular price $5.00

Along the lines of my Pagan-y greeting cards, I offer these full moon name cards. This one features two of the names for the full moon in September; the chrysanthemum moon (Chinese) and the barley moon (English Medieval). The lighter part of the moon is painted with the multihued petals of a chrysanthemum and the the darker areas are colored with green waves of barley. It also features the faint outline of Nana, the September fairy (of my tradition).

The full moon is done in watercolor; the fairy is drawn in chalk pastel.

Perfect for September birthdays, holidays, esbats, or whatever suits your fancy.

A tidbit about Nana:
Nana is one of the 13 fairies that I made up once upon a time (ha ha, no pun intended...ish) when I was a composing a (as of yet and probably perpetually) unfinished story about Sleeping Beauty. There's one for every month, plus one extra. They have all sorts of alliances and suchlike and are at war, and are elemental, and all have weird names that are vaguely associated with their month names, function, or holidays therein.
Nana is the fairy of September. She has one of the weirder names that doesn't seem to relate to her month as clearly as some of the others. "Nana" is actually Japanese for the number 7, which is a reference to *Sept*ember being the 7th month in earlier versions of the calendar. She is the youngest fairy, is basically neutral, and looks up to and spends a lot of time with Sanguine (October).

Oh yeah and card details, for people who care about that sort of thing:
Cards are approximately 5 1/2" by 4 1/4", and come with a slightly larger envelope to put them in (although there is a stamp on the one in the photos there will be no stamp on the one you receive; it is just for reference). This one is also blank on the inside, so that you may fill it with the message of your choice! (Such as "Happy Birthday!")
