Under a Mellie Moon (Fairy) (Note Card)

Regular price $5.00

Along the lines of my Pagan-y greeting cards, I offer these full moon name cards. This one features two of the names for the full moon in November; the beaver moon (via the Colonial American tradition) and the sassafras moon (Choctaw). The lighter part of the moon is painted a with the texture of sassafras bark and the the darker areas are colored with the pattern of a beaver tail. It also features the faint outline of Mellie, the November fairy (of my tradition).

The full moon is done in watercolor; the fairy is drawn in chalk pastel.

Perfect for November birthdays, holidays, esbats, or whatever suits your fancy.

A tidbit about Mellie:
Mellie is one of the 13 fairies that I made up once upon a time (ha ha, no pun intended...ish) when I was a composing a (as of yet and probably perpetually) unfinished story about Sleeping Beauty. There's one for every month, plus one extra. They have all sorts of alliances and suchlike and are at war, and elemental, and all have weird names that are vaguely associated with their month names, function, or holidays therein.
Mellie is the fairy of November. It is a total geek reference to Mellie, a character from the show Dollhouse, whose doll name is November. She is the second oldest of all the fairies. She holds council with her two closest sisters Sanguine (October), and Eurydice (December).

Oh yeah and card details, for people who care about that sort of thing:
Cards are approximately 5 1/2" by 4 1/4", and come with a slightly larger envelope to put them in (these ones are white, although there is a stamp on the one in the photos there will be no stamp on the one you receive; it is just for reference). This one is also blank on the inside, so that you may fill it with the message of your choice! (Such as "Happy Birthday!") And it'll be packaged in a cardboard mailer, so it won't get all bent up.
