Under a Joanna Moon (Fairy) (Note Card)

Regular price $5.00

Along the lines of my Pagan-y greeting cards, I offer these full moon name cards. This one features two of the names for the full moon in January; the ice moon (Neopagan; a lot of the winter months share cold epithets from tradition to tradition - ice, cold, snow, storm...I tried not to repeat the same moon name on two different moons) and the wolf moon (English Medieval). The lighter part of the moon is painted with ice and the the darker areas are colored with the golden eye of a wolf. It also features the faint outline of Joanna, the January fairy (of my tradition).

The full moon is done in watercolor; the fairy is drawn in chalk pastel.

Perfect for January birthdays, holidays, esbats, or whatever suits your fancy.

A tidbit about Joanna:
Joanna is one of the 13 fairies that I made up once upon a time (ha ha, no pun intended...ish) when I was a composing a (as of yet and probably perpetually) unfinished story about Sleeping Beauty. There's one for every month, plus one extra. They have all sorts of alliances and suchlike and are at war, and elemental, and all have weird names that are vaguely associated with their month names, function, or holidays therein.
Joanna is the fairy of January. I went through a lot of January-sounding names before I settled on Joanna. She's a neutral fairy, loosely allied with Julia (July), whom she sort of looks after.

Oh yeah and card details, for people who care about that sort of thing:
Cards are approximately 5 1/2" by 4 1/4", and come with a slightly larger envelope to put them in (these ones are white, although there is a stamp on the one in the photos there will be no stamp on the one you receive; it is just for reference). This one is also blank on the inside, so that you may fill it with the message of your choice! (Such as "Happy Birthday!") And it'll be packaged in a cardboard mailer, so it won't get all bent up.
