Under a Eurydice Moon (Fairy) (Note Card)

Regular price $5.00

Along the lines of my Pagan-y greeting cards, I offer these full moon name cards. This one features two of the names for the full moon in December; the snow moon (via the Cherokee tradition) and the peach moon (Choctaw). The lighter part of the moon is painted with the faint impression of snow and the the darker areas are colored with the texture of peach skin. It also features the faint outline of Eurydice, the December fairy (of my tradition).

The full moon is done in watercolor; the fairy is drawn in chalk pastel.

Perfect for December birthdays, holidays, esbats, or whatever suits your fancy.

A tidbit about Eurydice:
Eurydice is one of the 13 fairies that I made up once upon a time (ha ha, no pun intended...ish) when I was a composing a (as of yet and probably perpetually) unfinished story about Sleeping Beauty. There's one for every month, plus one extra. They have all sorts of alliances and suchlike and are at war, and elemental, and all have weird names that are vaguely associated with their month names, function, or holidays therein.
Eurydice is the fairy of December. Her name ends in "-dice", similar to the "dece-" preceding December and marking it as the tenth month. She is the third oldest fairy and allied with Sanguine (October), and Mellie (November).

Cards are approximately 5 1/2" by 4 1/4", and come with a slightly larger envelope to put them in (these ones are white, although there is a stamp on the one in the photos there will be no stamp on the one you receive; it is just for reference). This one is also blank on the inside, so that you may fill it with the message of your choice! (Such as "Happy Birthday!") And it'll be packaged in a cardboard mailer, so it won't get all bent up.
