Bees Have Stings (Print)

Regular price $15.00

This intriguing piece features a dripping honeycomb pattern done in shades of deep blood orange, with little bee outlines superimposed across the patchy hexagonal background in an inky black. Swirls of Shakespearean script inked over the design feature one of my favorite bee quotes attributed to William Shakespeare (the font is William Shakespeare WF):

“Let come what will, I mean to bear it out, And either live with glorious victorie, Or die with fame renown'd for chivalrie: He is not worthy of the honey-comb, That shuns the hives because the bees have stings.”
-William Shakespeare

The original piece is done in watercolor and ink on watercolor paper, measuring 12" x 9". This is a one-of-a-kind original painting.
This print (THIS LISTING IS FOR THE PRINT, NOT THE ACTUAL PAINTING) measures 12" X 9" also. It is a lovely reproduction of the original work, on photo matte paper. This listing is for the print only, no frame or matting will be included. It will be shipped in a plastic sleeve and sturdy cardboard mailer.

20% of the proceeds for this piece will be donated to The Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees. ($3 will be donated for this print.) Check the Bee Charitable section of my shop for more Honey Bee benefiting items ;)
