Anesidora [Greek] “she who sends gifts”

Originally a goddess who went around distributing blessings (most importantly hope) from her jar. Later demoted to the more famous Pandora (“all gifted”), a mortal woman created by the gods to punish mankind for Prometheus’ theft of fire. Her jar was famously mistranslated into a box, and said to contain all the evils of the world (which she unleashed), instead of blessings. Hope was the only blessing she was able to hold onto.
